ARCS Conference 2017

The three days of the ARCS conference in beautiful Vancouver, BC have officially come to a close.  This biennial conference held by the Association of Registrars and Collection Specialists is the perfect platform to discuss common issues and best practices for collections care.  This seminar acts as a networking event for like-minded people to learn and discuss their experiences within all facets of the art world.

At the last ARCS conference in 2015, Articheck’s CEO and Founder, Annika Erikson, announced the launch of our product and we’ve come a long way since then!  While we didn’t give a presentation this year, Articheck was featured in a talk titled ‘There’s an app for that!  Or ten.  Let’s compare and contrast the most popular four apps.’  Liz Furhman-Bragg, the registrar for Evansville Museum in Indiana, gave a wonderful walk-through of what its like to make a condition report with Articheck.  Check out Liz’s helpful presentation here.  The entirety of the presentation including the comparison of Articheck to three other products can be found here.

There were a great deal of events outside of the conference centre to keep everyone occupied as well.  The night before the official start of ARCS all of the domestic and international shippers present at the conference held a party for all attendees.  The Vancouver Art Gallery also hosted a fantastic event in their space and allowed us to view their exhibitions after hours.

In lieu of participating in a talk within the conference this year, we held three lunches for anyone who wanted to learn more about our software.  Each day we had current clients discuss their experience creating condition reports with Articheck in addition to a Q&A session.  Getting to discuss Articheck with so many potential users was an awesome experience and one we hope to have again at the next ARCS conference!
